About the Observatory
What the Observatory will measure

- Output and Gross Value Added, aligned with national accounts.
- Resource efficiency
- Water, fertiliser and pesticide per kg of produce, compared with open field.
- Employment
- Farm and industry jobs; rural and urban; women's share.
- Forex
- Earned through exports of flowers, seeds, produce and equipment; saved through localised manufacturing.
- Industry map
- Manufacturers, input suppliers, importers and exporters.
How figures are built and checked
Every published figure says where it comes from: declared by verified contributors, derived from declared data with published per-crop coefficients, or reference data from public horticulture, scheme and trade sources used as a cross-check.
Growers report the area they operate; manufacturers report the area they supplied. When the two agree, the estimate earns high confidence.
- Bronze
- Contact verified with a one-time code.
- Silver
- Valid GSTIN for industry, or farm GPS location for growers.
- Gold
- Confirmed by a second party: supplier, institution or field visit. Planned.
